Open Position:
Senior Computer Vision & Algorithms Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Computer Vision & Algorithms Engineer to take ownership of core perception and decision-making modules — bridging the gap between machine learning outputs and real-world robot behavior.
In this role, you will turn noisy, imperfect sensor data and incomplete computer vision outputs into robust, actionable decisions, ensuring reliable system performance in challenging outdoor conditions.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role in an early-stage startup, requiring strong ownership, fast iteration, and comfort working in ambiguous, real-world environments.
What You'll Do
- Own the design, implementation, and validation of perception post-processing and decision-making modules
- Transform ML and computer vision outputs (e.g., 3D point cloud segmentation, sensor data) into reliable, structured representations
- Develop algorithms for noise filtering, tracking, and spatial reasoning under uncertainty
- Design and implement decision logic for robot target selection and behavior
- Develop and improve computer vision and 3D perception pipelines for real-world deployment
- Work closely with ML engineers to define interfaces, handle uncertainty/confidence, and improve system robustness
- Deploy and optimize algorithms on embedded edge platforms (NVIDIA Jetson)
- Write production-grade C++ code and prototype in Python
- Debug and iterate using real-world flight data and field tests
- Lead the module validation within the integrated robot environment and field-test scenarios
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in algorithm development (robotics, perception, or similar domains)
- Strong background in classical perception: geometry, filtering, tracking
- Solid computer vision experience
- Strong programming skills in Python (research/prototyping) and Modern C++ (production systems)
- Experience working with real-world, noisy sensor data and resource-constrained system designs
- Proven ability to take full ownership of complex modules from design to deployment
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous startup environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with real-time or low-latency systems
- Experience with NVIDIA Jetson or similar edge computing platforms
- CUDA / GPU acceleration
- Background in aerial robotics or autonomous systems
Who You Are
- Pragmatic and execution-focused — prioritizing what works in the real world
- Fast iterator who can quickly test, fail, and improve
- Highly independent, possessing strong ownership mentality for the entire development cycle, from system design to field validation
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and evolving requirements
- Motivated by building systems that operate reliably outside the lab
- Collaborative and dedicated team player who contributes to positive and high-performing culture
- Result-driven, comfortable under the pressure of tight deadlines and unexpected challenges
